This is a great editorial from The Washington Post which highlights the misguided resistance by many Progressives towards charter schools, many of whom are not the targets or beneficiaries of the majority of those schools. It rightly points out that many low income and minority families need the alternatives to poor traditional public schools that charters offer. It fairly states that not all charters are high quality, but that a blanket call to limit charters is “wrongheaded”. I would (and have) put it more harshly.
