Biography
John has over 30 years experience as a lender, investment banker, and financial advisor. After receiving his MBA, John began his financing career as a credit analyst and then as a lender with a large, regional bank in the Rocky Mountain west. John also worked with a regional investment bank for almost 10 years, during which time he was first introduced to charter schools. John’s experience with and knowledge of the municipal and credit markets is wide-ranging, having served as senior investment banker to large national credits such as Denver Public Schools and the State of Illinois, as well as banker to smaller clients such as middle market businesses and correspondent banks.
John first began working with charter schools in 2000 when a school district client asked him to work with a charter school they authorized. After that transaction, John decided to focus on charter school facility finance full time and formed Buck Financial in 2001. John is married with three children.
